why I chose to blog?
Starting a Blog can be incredibly valuable to someone for a variety of reasons. For me, it’s an ongoing exploration of creative ideas for my own inspiration and for others. It also opens the door to connect with those around the world who speak my language and have the same passions.
boost creativity
- It will not only boost creativity and inspire new perspectives, but it can also bring you more work & people around you.
- Creativity is more like a process and rarely comprises a single eureka moment. You can actually “practice” creativity, or make yourself more creative.
understanding thought process
- It will not only improve our understanding, but makes us more knowledgeable.
- It shows you different styles, opinions, and other thought processes.
communicate
- It gives us an opportunity to listen to and help others.
payback
- Its a great way to return the favor back to the design industry.
The Vitruvian Man
Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing of a male figure perfectly inscribed in a circle and square, known as the “Vitruvian Man,” illustrates what he believed to be a divine connection between the human form and the universe. Beloved for its beauty and symbolic power, it is one of the most recognizable symbols of the Renaissance in the world. Vitruvius believed that the principles governing the representation of the human form also applied to temple architecture in terms of weight, symmetry and proportion. A New Interpretation Looking at Leonardo’s Geometric Constructions, by Vitor Murtinho presents an interesting relationship between Vinci & Golden Ratio.
Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio, or The Divine Proportion, refers to the amount of space found between objects or the relationship between numbers. There is a lot of math behind how the Golden Ratio is calculated. Found in nature, most stereotypically in the nautilus shell, the golden ratio applies in a multitude of contexts: art, math, design, and architecture and when followed makes those objects the most visually appealing.
When specifically applied to design specifically, it creates an organic, balanced, and aesthetically pleasing composition.
According to a Survey, 75% of people think they are not living up to their creative potential.
Wow—that says a lot. When people are showing up at work day after day without the ability to express their true gifts in some way, it can start to shift their mood, perspective, and performance. Making sure employees have the tools to express creativity within their area of expertise, as well as the time to play with creative options at work, can go a long way.
